A Second To None Hunting Experience…

MULE DEER
The current population of Mule Deer is at an all time high. The large number of does draws in those big old bucks that have been living in solitude all year. During rutting season the bucks will travel for miles to get to the resident mule deer doe herd.

WHITETAIL DEER
Our whitetail herd population is at a constant high level. The private land we hunt serves as a travel route for to and from the bedding grounds for the deer because of the alfalfa fields and oxbows.

The Rock Creek & Willow Creek drainages are tributaries of the Milk River. The whitetail travels up the Rock Creek drainage. With such an attractive natural habitat and low hunting pressure, the whitetail herd has grown over the years. The herds have also had time to develop a good supply of young, running age and mature deer. The MFWP insist that the majority of the whitetail deer still die of old age in the Milk River area.

ELK
The Missouri Breaks elk herd are thriving among the hills and canyon habit. This area is famous for archery hunting, which actually exceeds gun use, and for the strength and vibrancy of the elk herd. Because of the difficulty for non-residents in obtaining a license, we only hunt during archery and gun season.

If you're interested in planning an archery elk hunt with us, you will need to begin the process a couple of years in advance. After you have purchased the Big Game license, you must apply in the June drawing for an unlimited permit.

ANTELOPE
The population seems to holding for the antelope. Of course during the winter months we normally have a large population. This population travels out of Canada but normally is not here during our hunting season. The MFWP is controlling the population that gets harvested so you may have to apply for more than one year in order to get a license.

Apply for the license during June drawing.
