Whitetail Hunting During Archery Season…
|
Hunting the Milk River whitetail is exciting. Large herds of whitetail deer feeding
on the area alfalfa fields are a sight to see!
Our hunts are limited to 2-3 archery hunters per week, so each gets plenty of one-on-
one attention. As a hunter, you make the decision on which deer to harvest, but our
guides prepare you, explaining what will bring the best results.
On a typical day, we spend the mornings hunting at Rock Creek and preparing for the
afternoon hunt. By midday, hunters are placed as the deer are bedding in the feeding
areas during the mornings. No walking in the feeding areas or bedding grounds, as
this pushes the whitetails out of your hunting area, not to be back for the evening hunt.
Milk River whitetails range in size from young bucks at 110-125 points, 3-to 4-year-olds
at 125-140 points, and mature bucks at 140 points and up. A mature Milk River whitetail
buck will leave an impression that you will never forget. Big bodies, deep made,
muscular make up (300 pounds & up), leave you no doubt as to what you have seen!
Be prepared for shot ranges of 10-45 yards, bring your favorite bow and
gear; spend plenty of time zeroing in on your hair-covered target. Practice pays!
Our weather in September and early October is some of the best we have for the year.
Bring your camera, as some of the best pictures are taken during the archery season.
We have several return clients for archery season, so plan ahead and book your dates.
